Entrepreneurial universities as drivers for (regional) innovation systems - fact or fiction?

As a pilot project of the EIT HEIT initiative, E.I.N.S., the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Network for Smart and Sustainable Regions, is being set up by the European University E³UDRES² together with UIIN, the University Industry Interaction Network, in order to strengthen the innovation capacity of participating institutions, to make relevant contributions regional innovation ecosystems and to foster their pan-European collaboration. Universities are undoubtedly important drivers for successful innovation ecosystems worldwide. However, apart from some exceptionally good practices, there is still much untapped potential in Europe. Therefore, at the Inspiring Chat, some recognized experts discuss challenges and opportunities for entrepreneurial universities and their potential to strengthen innovations for Smart and Sustainable Regions.
